I sat myself the goal to run 1,000 mi (~1,600 km) in 2017. Begin July I reached the halfway mark fof 500 mi. Today I reached the 1,000 km mark.

The weather forecast shows significantly lower temperatures for the Silvretta region than last week's forecast. The forecast now includes sub zero night time temperatures and daytime snow fall. Winter is coming… Time to make some gear changes

On Tuesday a neighbor came by because there was a rooster on the loose on his road and thought it might be ours. It wasn't, yet we helped him catch it. Now our flock has a new member. Casper named him Theodore Roosevelt, or Teddy for short. Meet Teddy the black silkie 🐓.

In 2015 our family hiked the John Muir Trail. For 21 days we carried everything we needed. The list details my gear share & helped me reduce weight. As family "mule" I carried tent, stove, pots & bear can. It shows "base weight", i.e. the weight of everything on my back w/o water, food or waste.
